Born in a small town north of Barcelona, Simon became very interested in jazz music at a young age. He holds a Master’s degrees from the Conservatory of Amsterdam, lived in New York City where he was influenced by bass masters Pat O’Leary, Buster Williams and Reggie Workman, and is a founding member of the Dutch 1920s band The Fried Seven. Simon has collaborated with swing jazz artists Harry Allen, Phillip Harper, Menno Daams, and Peter Beets.
